UGC: National Eligibility Test 2010 Online Applications for JRF & Lectureship

National Eligibility Test for JRF & Lectureship

University Grant Commission (UGC) has invited the application for December 2010 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) & National Eligibility Test for Lectureship.

Eligibility : Master Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH/ VH candidates) or candidates appearing/ appeared in qualifying examination subject to securing of requisite percentage of marks in qualifying examination.

Subjects : UGC JRF NET Examination December 2010 will be held in 93 subjects. List of National Eligibility Test along the codes are given below. University Grant Commission conducts NET in following subjects one can view in following lists.

Exam Fee : Rs. 450/- for General Candidates, Rs. 225/- for Other Backward Classes candidates (Non Creamy Layer) and Rs. 110/- for SC/ST/PH/VH Candidates)

Mode of Payment : Examination Fee is to be submitted by way of challan form which is to be filled in triplicate i.e. three copies (one for Bank, one for candidate and one for UGC) as given in advertisement notification. Challan is to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India. One copy of Challan will be retained by the SBI and two copies of challan will be given to candidates.

The UGC Copy of Challan is to be attached with application form and sent to registrar of university where he/she is appearing in the exam.

No other mode of payment will be accepted.

Scheme of Examination : Candidates appearing for the JRF NET examination will have to appear in Three Papers. Paper I & Paper II will be of objective type and Paper III will be of descriptive type.

Paper I : Paper I will consist of 60 questions of general nature and it will contain questions designed to assess the teaching & research aptitude of candidates. Question in this paper will be from reasoning, comprehension, general awareness and divergent thinking. Candidates has option to answer any 50 questions out of 60 questions.

Paper II – Paper II also will be of objective nature and it will consist 50 questions. All the question are compulsory. Each question will carry 2 marks. Maximum marks for this paper will be 100. Questions in this paper will be from the subject chosen by the candidates.

Paper III – Paper III will be of descriptive type and candidates will have to answer the question in the space provided in answer sheet. Paper III will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum marks as prescribed by University Grant Commission. Paper III will be checked of only those candidates who secures the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by UGC in Paper I & II.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in Paper II : General – 40%, OBC, PH, VH, SC, ST – 35%

Minimum Qualifying Marks in Paper I + II : General – 50%, OBC, PH & VH – 45%, SC & ST – 40%

Minimum Qualifying Marks in Paper III : General – 50%, OBC, PH & VH – 45%, SC & ST – 40%
